Spooky
During our big storm earlier this week, this poor arachnid fell into one of our rain buckets and couldn’t get out. So it’s Halloween weekend and I thought, well it’s not every day you get to be up close and personal with a big red spooky spider. It would’ve been a hilarious video watching me extract this guy out of the water because I thought it might be playing dead. (I know it’s not an opossum). But with my handy dandy tweezers, I was able to examine it and share it lovingly with you.
Spectacular
On a recent trip to Hawaii (The Big Island), my husband and his friends visited the Kilauea volcano. Kilauea is currently the world’s most active volcano. He took this spectacular shot near sunset. If you click on the photo, you’ll see the steam from the lava rising up. I love the way the rays of the sun and the barren tree slant in the same direction.

Oh my sweet witches. It isn’t Halloween without a visit from these special ladies. If you aren’t familiar with them, the location of this photograph is thought to be a Home for the Aged in Norfolk, England. The looks on the faces of these old ladies drinking tea never gets old.
