We finally did it. We joined the majority of Americans who have ditched their landline phone and the fees associated with it. Good riddance to all the annoying solicitors and scammers too. I love the peace and quiet. But wait…cue in screeching brakes…how do I find my cell phone now?
Instead of calling myself to find my cell phone, now I have to search the house. This was particularly annoying when I was running out the door and had to retrace my steps to locate it. Do I need a cell phone lanyard now? What a fashion statement!
On the bright side, I could rationalize that I am getting more exercise (not really). What’s really happening is this: I have to pay attention (a lot more).
I came across a quote on forgetfulness by an unknown author* that is quite funny:
*The fact that the author is unknown is actually more amusing than the quote.
