You know how certain songs make you soar and others make you cry? One that gave me goosebumps recently is a song called “Golden Hour.” I confess that I heard a contestant on The Voice sing it. When I went to hear the original artist (JVKE), I was a little disappointed. I think I like the version by Jeremy Beloate better because he sings like an opera singer.
The lyrics are simple, but beautiful.
Shine
It’s your golden hour
You slow down time
In your golden hour
On a sadder note, a dear friend passed away last month. Coldplay has a song called “Fix You” which came out over a decade ago. But it seems to resurface whenever I’m grieving someone and always brings out fresh tears.
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix yo
I’m practicing being thankful every day.
