Spirit Distancing

While we ride out COVID-19, I am following the rules about social distancing. But a person can only stay indoors so long. Since my neighborhood walks aren’t too exciting, I did a Google search on (you can guess it) “cemeteries near me.” I was completely surprised when the Olivenhain Cemetery popped up – only three miles from my house.

I had to check this place out and figured I’d be the only one there: a correct assumption if you count humans. There may have been some spirits but they kept their distance. I did manage to find one angel and some other pretty shots.

In addition to the delight of finding this cemetery tucked into a nearby residential neighborhood, I noticed a trail. I followed that muddy trail until it took me to the top of some hills. I was rewarded with fantastic views as well as some lovely spring blooms.

I wish everyone patience and wellness during these difficult times. And maybe you’ll discover a hidden gem right in your backyard.
